about

This is a limited-edition compact disc CD release of my latest songs "Yellow and Grey" and "Gelb und Grau", along with two other tracks, "Here to Stay" and "This New World Order". Although these tracks have appeared on previous digital releases, it is the first time that they have been released on Compact Disc.

First to be released is the limited edition "Yellow Cover" version. This comes in a single cardboard wallet with a yellow cover and grey back. The disc label is also in grey.

Look out for the limited edition "Grey" version with a grey cover and yellow rear, along with a yellow disc label. Available soon!

"Yellow and Grey" recalls Mistrust's recent train journey to Port Sunlight (the historic workers' village in Wirral, UK), on the ageing yellow and grey trains that pass through the village. These trains are being replaced by shiny new modern trains which are also yellow and grey! Hence the line "Yellow and Grey is here to stay!" The song's overall themes are nostalgia and new beginnings!

"Yellow and Grey" includes a line from the poem "From a Railway Carriage" by Robert Louis Stevenson (can you spot it?), and there's also a nod to the classic Kraftwerk song "Trans Europe Express" with Mistrust recording a German language version of Yellow and Grey ("gelb und grau") which is released alongside the original song.

Both songs are taken from Mistrust's forthcoming album which is out in Spring 2023.

Tim Blackburn, the UK singer-songwriter and remixer who records as Mistrust, is back with a new single called "Yellow and Grey". It marks his first new material since the release of his single "Never Let You Go" last year.
